3.0 out of 5 starssufficient for basic surfing, has some drawbacks
Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2017
I needed a new laptop for basic internet stuff and didn't want to spend a fortune. I decided on this laptop largely based on price and the SSD. I've used it for about a week and this is my assessment:
Pros.... The price was right and the SSD is great because it doesn't build up heat and is faster. I love that it has the keypad on the right and the keyboard is comfortable. I especially love that it doesn't come with all the bloat-ware that's installed on most new laptops....clean! It's also extremely quite, hardly can tell it's on.
Cons....the battery life is AWFUL... 2-3 hours tops. Also you can't order a battery...have to send it away if you need a new one. The screen leaves a lot to be desired (poor resolution and color). The entire laptop is plastic and feels flimsy, but that doesn't really matter since it will spend most it's life sitting on my table and not moved. However, I doubt it would stand up to being packed around all the time. The webcam is awful...I mean AWFUL. Finally, because it has such a small hard drive, I'll have to always use external drives to save and store my files (which is worth it to me in order to have the SSD)
All in all, this laptop will do the job but if I had known about some of the shortcomings (like battery life and screen resolution), I probably would have spent a little more money for a better one. I just hope it lasts for a few years.
