Samsung s6 usb driver download for windows 10 - what that
Cannot connect Galaxy S6 to Windows 10
My Samsung Galaxy s6 connects fine to every non Windows 10 PC. My windows 10 pc will NOT recognize or communicate with the S6. I'm unable to transfer files.
Samsung support is easily contacted through their website and online chat. They can remote into the PC and Phone. I've tried this on multiple occasions. Samsung tries to install SmartSwitch. This is impossible because an error comes up stating that You need to install or reinstall the windows media feature pack.
I've gone here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48231&wa=wsignin1.0 and installed both feature packs that are available for my Windows 10 Pro N version. The error with SmartSwitch still appears. I don't know how to uninstall the feature packs and reinstall them to see if that helps SmartSwitch to install correctly.
If I go to devices and printers while the phone is connected via USB, I can see under Unspecified a SAMSUNG_Android. If I double click that device and then go to Hardware tab, it indicates that the drivers for the MTP device function are not installed (Code 28). If I go to properties of the MTP device function it states again that drivers are not installed and the install class is not present or is invalid. I click on change settings, and update driver and search automatically for updated driver software, windows then encounters an error: The install class is not present or invalid. It instructs to go to the device manufacturers website for support on driver software.
I have gone to the Samsung site and downloaded and installed the device driver, uninstalled, and retried this multiple times.
I've thought that perhaps the lack of a windows media player is the issue. Windows media player is not available for windows 10.
When I plug in the S6 via USB the device setup tool runs. It says installing device and loads about 99% but never finishes.
Error message that appears on phone says: Attention The connected device is unable to access data on this device. Reconnect the USB cable and try again. I've tried multiple usb ports. MTP is enabled on the phone.
