How to install Mapsource on your windows PC
Other: As mapsource is an old unsupported program it often crashes on the newer windows operating systems. This can be frustration, but if you get in the habit of saving you work often it really is no big deal, you just start the program again and open your current file. This has worked well for me.

Mapsource is an outdated and unsupported program originally created by Garmin. But it works Awesome!
Mapsource when installed correctly is still one of the best Tracklog editors. This tool is important because it allows us to make great adventure rides! Most users like Mapsource way better then Base Camp. Most user are not able to make Base Camp work well for them.

Ok, below are added maps that you may like:
Be careful with TOPO Maps as they are often wrong and have too much old information, much of the stuff is not really there anymore. The standard city maps have great accurate back roads detail, yes even better then Topo.
Add Topo West(Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada)
Download it and unzip it and and move it to your hard drive as above and then open the folder and run the "Setup" Application
It is over 3G so it may take a while to download.
