Public is Invited to Attend Film Screening and Interactive Discussion with Producer, Liam Romalis
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J., November 6, 2018 – Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel (TSTI), located at 432 Scotland Road in South Orange, invites the public to a screening of “Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas” on Sunday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. Producer Liam Romalis will facilitate a discussion about the movie as part of the program, which includes the Jewish/Irish short film, “Hannah Cohen’s Holy Communion.” Refreshments will be served. Set almost entirely in a Chinese restaurant, “Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas” is an irreverent musical documentary about a group of Jewish songwriters— including Irving Berlin, Mel Tormé, Jay Livingston, Ray Evans, Gloria Shayne Baker and Johnny Marks—who have written and performed some of the most memorable Christmas songs. The film has been nominated for a 2018 International Emmy award.
Also in November is the ongoing mindfulness class, “Opening the Heart and Mind Meditation,” which is held every other Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. The class, facilitated by Beth Sandweiss, will meet next on November 21, 2018 and continues through the year. No prior experience is necessary.
