Math Kangaroo Sample Questions
Take a look at these sample questions before attempting the test as they give you a very good idea of what to expect. Each question is designed to test various aspects of your math abilities. Students who work on these type of math problems have better results at the competition. In grade levels 1 to 4 questions marked with numbers 1-8 are for 3 points, questions marked with numbers 9-16 are for 4 points and questions marked with numbers 17-24 are for 5 points. In grade levels 5 to 12 questions marked with numbers 1-10 are for 3 points, questions marked with numbers 11-20 are for 4 points and questions marked with numbers 21-30 are for 5 points. Questions are determined well in advance of the actual test date at an annual meeting of all the countries in which the Math Kangaroo competition takes place. Educators get together and come up with a common set of questions that will be used in each competition around the world. Today, there are more than 80 different countries that administer Math Kangaroo test with 6 million students participating.
