How to use Google Maps offline and save mobile data

You can manage your offline maps by tapping on the three-line button on the top left and selecting Offline Maps.
The saved offline maps usually expire after one year without an internet connection. Google will update the data in the background if there are any changes, so there isn’t anything you have to do manually.
With offline Google Maps, you can get driving directions. Transit, traffic and other information that is retrieved live will not work without an internet connection.

- Make sure you are connected to the internet. Using a Wi-Fi connection is recommended.
- Open the Google Maps app and make sure you are signed in with your account.
- Search for your specific destination.
- On the bottom of the screen, tap the name of the place.
- Now, tap on the Download button.
- The app will ask you to confirm the area. You can zoom in or out based on how much area you want to download.
- Hit confirm and tap on the Download button.
