Can’t download/install Nvidia drivers on Windows 10
After I clean installed win 10, 64-bit 2 days ago I’m not able to install my Nvidia driver. I get this error: “NVIDIA Installer cannot continue.
This NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. Please update your driver using GeForce Experience to download the correct version. I’ve read that many people are having this issue. How do I fix this??

Why does the Nvidia installer fail?
1. Confirm that you are installing the fitting version of the driver
- Navigate to the official Nvidia support website, here.
- Make sure to choose the appropriate product and system, while sticking to the latest version.
- Alternatively, you can try and download an older version, as that fixed the problem for some users.
- Download the driver, right-click on the installer, and run it as administrator.
2. End all Nvidia tasks and delete extra files
- Right-click on your Windows 10 taskbar, and select Task Manager.
- Inside the Task Manager window, search the list of processes, and end all Nvidia tasks.
- Navigate to these links on your computer hard-drive, delete the below-mentioned files, and then restart your PC :
3. Temporarily close your antivirus software and update GeForce Experience
- Right-click on the antivirus icon in the Taskbar’s notification area and disable it temporarily.
- Alternatively, you can open the antivirus and disable the Real-time protection while installing Nvidia software.
- Run the installer again and check for improvements.

4. Update Windows, remove old drivers with DDU and try again
- Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Check for updates to update Windows 10.

- Choose Troubleshoot> Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Boot into Safe mode and run the DDU utility.
- Remove drivers and install them again while in the Safe mode.
