ECI Download

CcpNmr ECI can be downloaded as part of the CcpNmr Analysis and FormatConverter releases from here. Analysis is now available for most platforms and the lightweight FormatConverter release can be run without compilation on virtually all platforms. For a pre-compiled release of Analysis you will need to unpack it, then "cd ccpnmr" and run "python configRelease.py" before you can start Analysis. Notes for installation of FormatConverter can be found in the downloaded package.

Run Analysis on your computer either with a new CCPN project or an existing one, and then you can open an ECI window from the analysis menu M:Structure:ECI: Database Deposition. It is also available as a tab in the Extend-NMR GUI.

Probably the easiest option for users without Analysis is to run ECI as a standalone application where you will get access to its menus as well. The location of the script to do this is in the same location as the formatConverter script of this release and is called "eci".

Basic Requirements

For FormatConverter:

• Python 2.4 or higher
• Tcl/Tk 8.3 or higher

For Analysis:

• python 2.4 or higher
• Some functionality in Analysis, such as automated assignment, requires: Numpy
• Tcl/Tk 8.3 or higher
  
• C-compiler, e.g. gcc
• Optionally for faster contour graphics: OpenGL including glut

If you have Python 2.4 you will also need to install ElementTree for both releases, and set the environment variable ELEMENT_TREE_PATH to point to the ElementTree installation directory (so this directory should contain the directory elementTree in it) before you run the CCPN installation script. If you have Python 2.5 and above you do not need to do this.

Automatic Updates in Analysis

After installation of Analysis, the program automatically asks whether to check for updates, and updates can be obtained from the main menu using M:Project:Updates. Since the program is in continuous development, it is recommended to check for updates every time you start Analysis.
