Unable to download vmdk file from datastore - thanks for
Hello,
I have avoided the VMware webclient and stuck with the old school Windows client, but we have upgraded to recently.
The issue we are having is if I am browsing a datastore (via the web gui) and want to download a file or vmdk from the datastore, I am prompted for a password. Following the request, I get a new page telling me the page (the ESX host ip/dns name) can't be found.
Any advice would be much appreciated, and I wish we didn't go with the most recent version.

Are you using an FQDN link or NetBIOS?
What browser?

I am using the FQDN and I've used Chrome and IE

Is SSO enabled, and if so have you tried logging in manually and not with SSO for the browser, I've seen it behave oddly.
The ui is the html5 interface. It is still in beta and isn't fully featured. You may need to switch to the flash page

I'm experiencing the same issue with the flash page.davidr4 wrote:

Did you try without SSO if enabled?
What about if you login using the @gwd.es account?
Do you have the enhanced plugin installed?
I couldn't remember what it was called, but this is what I meant by browser SSOdavidr4 wrote:

I did install the plugin, no change. I am going to blow this version away and try the installation again.Rod-IT wrote:
